Mectalent provides its customers with high-quality products and comprehensive services in the areas of equipment manufacturing and precision mechanics. Mectalent's suppliers are a key part of the service chain. In the selection of suppliers, suppliers are treated equally. Suppliers are required to make continuous improvements in terms of sustainable development and responsibility.
Mectalent's Code of Conduct for Suppliers describes the minimum requirements of ethical principles and business practices that Mectalent expects from its suppliers. Meeting the requirements creates a sustainable business that considers, among other things, human rights, working and environmental conditions, and the fight against corruption.
Suppliers are expected to comply with all international and national laws, regulations, and ordinances in their area of operation. Mectalent expects suppliers to comply with the Code of Conduct in all their operations and to publish their own ethical policies for their own suppliers and subcontractors and to monitor their implementation.
Sustainable development lays the foundation for long-term success. Mectalent's Code of Conduct is built around the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. Thus, the Statute also takes into account the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention against Corruption, and the declaration of the Rio Conference on the Environment and Development.
Human rights
Supplier have to respect and support the human rights. The supplier must not be involved in human rights violations.
Discrimination
The supplier must not discriminate against employees under any circumstances. All employees must be treated with respect and equally.
Child labor
The supplier is not allowed to use child labor. Child labor refers to persons under the age of 15 (in some developing countries, the minimum age for regular employment is 14 years). According to ILO Convention No. 138, the minimum age for doing work is determined by local legislation regarding the permitted working age and the age of compulsory education, whichever is higher.
Forced labor
The supplier must not be involved in the use of forced labor under any circumstances.
Freedom of association
The supplier must respect the freedom of association of employees. Employees have the right to freedom of expression and the right to belong to a trade union. The supplier must respect and support the employee’s participation in collective bargaining.
The supplier must ensure safe and fair working conditions in accordance with applicable laws. The employee must be paid at least the minimum compensation in accordance with local legislation or the collective agreement, taking into account overtime pay and other benefits. The supplier must comply with local working time laws. The supplier is expected to have guidelines in place for occupational health and safety issues, taking into account possible emergencies. Employees must be informed and instructed on the basis of the instructions drawn up.
The supplier must support proactive preparation for potential environmental challenges. The supplier shall establish practices aimed at protecting the environment by appropriate means and shall endeavor to minimize the adverse environmental effects of her own activities. The supplier must comply with environmental legislation in its area of operation.
The supplier must comply with applicable competition law. The supplier must comply with anti-corruption laws in all forms. The supplier shall not participate in any kind of bribery and blackmail.
The Supplier shall comply with all laws and regulations related to conflict minerals (tin, tantalum, gold, tungsten). If necessary, the supplier is obliged to provide documentation of origin traceability related to a product containing conflict minerals.
The Supplier is obliged to comply with this Code of Conduct in its own operations. The supplier is also obliged to provide documentation on matters related to this Code of Conduct upon request.
