At Mectalent, we machine complex geometries to tight tolerances, process demanding materials, and deliver solutions where reliability is non-negotiable even in the most extreme conditions. Products we have designed and manufactured can be found far away in infinite space, deep in the recesses of the ocean, inside the human heart, and in the core of bone. Our customers range from industry-leading global corporations to growth companies developing the next generation of technologies – organizations of all sizes, from Finland and around the world.
We manufacture components, sub-assemblies, and devices for a wide range of medical technology applications. In addition to equipment designed for diagnostics and treatment, our customers are developing products such as biodegradable implants.
In new technologies, we are currently seeing particularly strong growth in demand for devices used in semiconductor manufacturing and quantum computing systems. We manufacture, for example, devices and components for the semiconductor industry as well as precision parts for cryostats.
We have been active in the defense industry for around two decades. We carry out component manufacturing and assembly for a variety of defense systems in collaboration with well-known Finnish industry partners. We hold the required firearms trade licenses, which also allow us to manufacture controlled components.
We are pursuing strong growth across all our business areas in line with our strategy. To ensure sufficient production capacity, we acquired TeknoComp in the fall of 2025. TeknoComp, based in Ruukki, is part of the Mectalent Group but operates as an independent subsidiary.
The Group now has production facilities in Oulu and Ruukki, with a combined production floor area of 9,200 m². Our machine fleet is comprehensive and modern, ranging from lathes to 5-axis machining centers, and includes specialized equipment for precision and fine mechanics such as wire EDM and sinker EDM machines.
Quality management is one of the cornerstones of our operations. By operating in accordance with our quality management system, we ensure that our processes are systematic, transparent, and driven by our customers’ needs.
Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards. ISO 13485, which governs the design and manufacture of medical devices and their components, requires comprehensive documentation, full product traceability, and systematic risk management throughout the entire product lifecycle. These practices are a natural part of our day-to-day operations.
For projects involving defense industry customers, we operate in accordance with the requirements of AQAP 2110. The ISO 13485 and AQAP 2110 standards share a significant number of requirements, meaning our quality management system already satisfies a large portion of the AQAP 2110 requirements. Formal AQAP 2110 certification can be completed on short notice if required.
