Mectalent is strengthening its management team and strategic sales development by appointing Aleksi Heikkilä as Sales Director as of October 2025. Former Sales Director Matti Ojala will transition to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Heikkilä holds a master’s degree in military sciences and has a long background both as an officer in the Finnish Defence Forces and in the business sector. Since 2015, he has worked in the security and defense industries, gaining extensive expertise and a broad network among key stakeholders.
Heikkilä also has significant experience working with Finland’s National Emergency Supply Agency, which strongly supports Mectalent’s position as a new member of the organization’s MIL-Pool.

Prior to his appointment as Sales Director, Heikkilä served for more than six months as Defence Advisor for Mectalent. His primary position was Sales Director at Image Wear Oy, where he was responsible for the security business.
After serving as Mectalent’s Sales Director since 2017, Matti Ojala will move into the role of COO, where he will oversee the company’s order-to-delivery chain, including production processes, logistics, and supply chain management.
– It has been a privilege to lead Mectalent’s sales and build customer relationships together with our skilled team. In my new role, I can focus even more on developing our processes and systems, thereby helping to implement our growth strategy, Ojala explains.
Ojala has been with Mectalent for 16 years and has played an important role in developing the company’s operational functions. Before joining Mectalent, he held several positions at Conlog Oy, where he gained broad experience in the defense industry.
Mectalent is aiming for strong growth across all its core business areas in the coming years, with a particular focus on the defense industry. Heikkilä’s appointment as Sales Director strengthens efforts to expand the customer base and explore new business opportunities, while Ojala’s appointment as COO enhances production, logistics, and supply chain development. Together, these appointments drive the company forward in executing its growth strategy.
