FocalSpec® Line Confocal Imaging technology uses different wavelengths of color for measuring. The shape and roughness of the surfaces can be measured with an accuracy of a micrometer, a millionth of a meter.
The confocal sensor measures, for example, multi-layered transparent materials and various complex, highly reflective electronic parts. The sensors are used for high-speed and precise inline 3D and 2D measurement and surface inspection in the medical industry, as well as in the production lines of mobile phones and printed electronics.
